- My Story
In May 2019 we will be travelling to Salima in Malawi to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity Great Britain.
The charity works with the most vulnerable families to provide safe and decent housing, their projects focus on everything from rehabilitating slums, upgrading residential blocks of flats as well as building strong communities that build local businesses and resilience in the face of natural disasters.
The housing need in Salima is extremely high, with many heads of households being children themselves who cannot afford to build a house or renovate their current home. HIV/AIDS has affected the area significantly, resulting in many children becoming orphaned and in need of decent housing. The poverty in Salima is very high with most of the families earning less than a dollar per day.
Any donation that you can make would be gratefully received and will go a long way to changing peoples lives.
