My Story

My name is Adrian Jones and I have worked for Ibstock Brick Ltd for 26 years. On 14th June I will be joining a team of volunteers taking part in a life changing project in partnership with Miller Homes and Habitat for Humanity. We will be building homes in Salima, Malawi alongside families in need of a decent place to live, with the aim of helping to end poverty housing.

The poverty in Salima is very high with most of the families earning less than a dollar per day. The housing need in Salima is also extremely high, with many child-headed households whom cannot afford to build a house or rennovate their current home. HIV/AIDS has affected the area significantly, resulting in may children becoming orphaned and in need of decent housing.

This challenge will take me out of my comfort zone but give me the opportunity to make a difference to families living in poverty & forever change their lives.
