My Story

For the 9th year, volunteers from RHS will travel with Habitat for Humanity GB to build safe and decent homes in Comanesti, Romania.

Due to a lack of income, most of the families in Comanesti are not eligible to apply for a loan or to buy a house in order to improve their living conditions. Many young families are forced to live with their parents, usually in a two bedroom apartment with only one working toilet.

The lack of space and privacy leads to conflicts between family members causing emotional imbalances, especially for children, with serious consequences for their development.
