My Story

In January 2019, I - along with 25 of my Aon UK colleagues - will be travelling to Guatemala, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity, to build two homes for families in poverty.

The builds will be constructed by hand, without the use of mechanical equipment or tools.  We will be working in difficult conditions and it will be both a very physical and emotional challenge for us all.  However, we will not fail.  We are willing, able and prepared for heavy graft.

I have committed to raising £3,000 for the project, by the end of 2018. This is an ambitious target but one that I believe I can achieve.  This is a cause very close to my heart and the work carried out by Habitat for Humanity is both important and necessary, in a world where poverty and homelessness is on the rise.

Habitat for Humanity is a humanitarian organisation focused on long-term development, aid and poverty alleviation.  Habitat's mission is to build a safe environment where families and communities can thrive and, to date, the charity has built more than 1 million homes and served over 10 million people.

Everyone deserves to have a safe and decent place to live, and a world where housing poverty and homelessness are eliminated.

The homes that we will be building in January 2019 will become a foundation from which the two families can achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better and safer life for themselves and for their families.

Please give generously and play a part in improving lives.
