  • My Story

Since 2012, Aon has sent colleagues across the world in partnership with the charity Habitat for Humanity, which helps the poorest and most vulnerable people lift themselves out of poverty. The charity has built more than 1 million homes and served 10 million people.

In January 2021, I will be travelling to Pondicherry in India as part of the Aon Build! As even though India as a whole has seen rapid economic growth, income inequality remains a huge challenge. To meet the country’s vision of a home for all by 2022, India will need to build an additional 110 million housing units.

We will be building housing including water filters and basic sanitation services, for those families who need it most, giving them the opportunity for a better life. The building work will be physically demanding. I'll be doing a range of tasks all by hand, including digging foundations, mixing concrete, laying blocks, making window frames, plastering, painting and landscaping. It's going to be hard work in difficult conditions but I'm excited about the challenge!

I really appreciate any donation you can make however big or small, to help me get to my target of £3,000, whether that's through many of the planned fundraising activities (including my first half marathon, bake sales, office events, more to follow) or through simply donating on this page.

Also, any online shopping you do (including holidays!!!), please register and complete through this link and the shop will donate to my cause, free of charge to you: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/bethanywilson/
