My Story

Surely everyone has the right to live in a home; one that is safe, secure and protects from the elements. You would think so; but sadly that isn’t the case for so many people living in Malawi. It is a country where poverty is rife and living conditions for many are a million miles from the comforts we are used to in the UK.

So, we are going to Salima in Malawi to build homes! I work for Miller Homes and on 14th June we will be taking a fantastic group of people with us from some of our key supply chain partners. The fact they have volunteered to support us on this amazing project makes me very proud, and I know that what we will experience together will be life changing.

We are hoping to build three homes whilst we are in Salima, although I will leave the bricklaying to others. I once built the worst brick barbecue ever, so I am under no illusion as to what I will be doing; yes that’s right … carrying bricks and mixing mortar!

I know this trip will be transformational for the families we are supporting out there, but also for us a group of friends being able to make a difference to the lives of others.

Any donation you are able to make would be hugely welcome as every penny raised will be spent on raising the living standards of those less fortunate than ourselves. Thank you.
