My Story

Hi - I am very excited to be taking part in the Homes for Scotland trip to Kenya in April 2019.  My first experince of a Habitat for Humanity build was in January 2016, when I went to Mumbai to help build a home for an amazing family in a tiny rural village near Karjat.  This  life changing experience reinforced the importance of seeing first hand the day to day challenges that so many people face and the dignity with which they face it.

In India I learned the true meaning of community building and was constantly in awe of how this small group of families and neighbours  worked tirelessly together to help each other build their home. Their collective goal was to ensure they would all eventually have a safe, dry place to sleep and equally importantly a place for their children to study.

I am looking forward to playing a very small part in making a difference to those living in Homa Bay and helping to improve the dire housing conditions they currently experience in the short time I am there. Please help me by donating whatever you can and help make a difference.
