My Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! We are so blessed to have you supporting us in any way you can.

The project: we are travelling to Malawi in May 2019 to build substantial housing for vulnerable children with Habitat for Humanity. They are an international development charity whose vision is a world where everyone has a safe place to call home. They believe good homes are the heartbeat of a strong community, and so also fight for land rights for women, upgrade urban slums and informal settlements, improve access to water and sanitation, and help communities become more resilient in the face of natural disasters.

We will be on the construction site, hard hat on and shovels in hand, building side by side with the local families, making a huge difference to health and education, and helping them create a safe place they can call home - and giving them bucketfuls of hope and laughter along the way!

A bit about us: we believe we’ve been called to be salt and light wherever we go and to whomever we meet. Having worked for Christians Against Poverty for five years now, we have seen too often the devastation poverty leaves in people’s lives. Africa has been on our hearts for a long time, so we thought it about time we discovered why! We’re so excited to be able to use our practical skills to support vulnerable children and families in such a vital way, and sow strong beginnings into the local community. We’ll also have the chance to get to know the families a bit more, share meals with the locals and learn more about their culture.

Your support means so much to us - thank you for getting this far and taking the time to donate, pray and support us on this trip. If you want to find out any more, we’d love to chat to you!
