Lindsey Warrington - 2021 Build Project in India
- My Story
In January 2021, alongside 50 other Aon colleagues I will be travelling to Puducherry in India to work side by side with families and community members to build safe and secure homes. The project has been set-up by Habitat for Humanity (H4H) a non-profit housing organisation who are working to empower people in the world’s poorest communities to overcome the chronic lack of decent housing. The charity aims to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. To achieve its goal, H4H helps people in need to build, repair and renovate homes. This is where we come in (steel toe cap boots, combat trousers, and all)….
My colleagues and I will spend a week building houses for locals who don’t have a roof over their heads. As a team we have been challenged to raise £150,000 with my personal target of £3,000.
Over the next 18 months I’ll be putting myself through physical challenges, risking my colleague’s health with bake sales and clueing myself up on any sporting events that I can tag a sweepstake onto. Ideas welcome on what you’d like to see me put myself through for donations.
We all get so many requests to donate to fantastic causes, but if you can support in any way and help me reach my target, I’d be hugely grateful.
