My Story
Hello, I'm Matthew and I work as a Technical Coordinator for CALA Homes. This year I am privileged to be part of the CALA Build 2019 in Cambodia.
Myself and 9 CALA colleagues have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to volunteer with Habitat For Humanity's build program, and on February 1st 2019 we will be travelling to Battambang to build homes for families living in extreme poverty. Our aim is to help local families who suffer from a lack of basic human rights such as clean drinking water and safe shelter, to help provide strength, stability, and self-reliance through a safe home.
Those who know me personally can attest to my somewhat lacking practical skills when it comes to, well most things. In the heat and humidity of Cambodia these skills are certain to be tested but this is a challenge I will overcome. Whether I be required to lay blocks and hang doors or simply dig and lift I will give it my all.
Despite my heroic efforts....*ahem. The part you can play is far more important, so if you feel able please donate to this worthy cause.
Habitat for Humanity is a fantastic organisation and one I have wanted to work with for a long time. I am extremely lucky and pleased to be contributing to this cause alongside such a great team of people as those on the CALA build this year.
All the best and my sincere thanks
Matt
