My Story

Hello!

I have been selected to represent CALA Homes North Home Counties on the CALA Build trip to India in February 2020 with Habitat For Humanity. The trip will involve members of the CALA Homes team to be immersed into the Pondicherry region of India and build a new home for a family in need in just 5 days. From digging the foundations to mixing cement and brick laying, the CALA Homes team will work alongside Habitat For Humanity representatives, local tradesmen and the families to help complete the build.

The housing need in rural areas of India is huge, with hundreds of families desperate for safe and decent shelters with toilet facilities. These families lack the financial and technical capacity to build a house of their own, currently living in small muds huts with no sanitation facilities.

Habitat For Humanity's mission is to build a safe environment for families in need worldwide. Just a small donation will enable them to continue their amazing work to fight extreme poverty.

I'll be sure to keep you up to date with how the fundraising is going, and I'm sure you'll all want to know how I am coping in the 35 degree heat...
